a chosen generation strutting through winter wonderland

Well, on Saturday, December 16th SOCKAC princes and princesses show cased their talents as they "Strutted Through Winter Wonderland" in a trial fashion show! Considering, we had only two practice days, these young people did a phenomenal performance, with total confidence as they modeled their attire!

This adventure was designed to afford the princes and princesses an opportunity to determine if this was an industry they wanted to know more about. The assignment was to look in their closet and either create a new look using different pieces of garments or take an existing garment and redesign it using beads, ribbons, lace, painting, etc.

The princes and princesses understood the assignment and score 100 PLUS!! I can hardly wait to see what they will create in 2024 as we will offer workshops and classes on design and fashion, etiquette and charm!

A great big thanks to the village for coming through one more time--Pastor Freddie Jack for use of the Family Life Center; Queen Hazel D. Smith, an exceptional Mistress of Ceremony (she sort of bossed me around too LOL), Queen LaShonda Williams and Queen Madame Jessica for being my "ride or die" throughout the process (two more Queens who sort of bossed me around LOL), King Orlandar Jack for teaching the princes and princesses a "challenging song in just two practices, Queen Kwanza for teaching the princes and princesses how to walk, Queen Bridgett and Queen Felecia for coming to my rescue and receiving the guests, Queen Angel for always having her Gram's back by jumping in and helping wherever needed, King Alex for the great music renditions, Queen Carleen who did her part before leaving for a previous scheduled appointment, Queen Bri and Queen Nadia were another team of "ride or die" as they helped to ensure the signage and some props were uniquely designed.

To give the princes and princesses an added boost of encouragement, the kings and queens were "surprisingly motivated" to end the event by walking the runway! They did an amazing job! The princes and princesses were elated to see their coaches doing the very thing we asked them to do.

Well, this was the end of adventures for 2023, keep watch for the 2024 calendar as loads of adventures are in store for 2024! Don't forget we are recruiting adventure camp coaches. If you are interested in joining our team sign up using the "contact us" link on our website. We will have a working lunch meeting January 6, 2024, from 11am to 1pm. We will teach you everything you need to know to be a successful adventure camp coach!

I pray everyone have a wonderful, safe, and peaceful 2023 holiday season!

Linda
